Institutional Advisory Board
At Cass Career Center, we believe in the power of collaboration to shape the future of Career and Technical Education (CTE). The CCC Institutional Advisory Board (IAB) is the heart of this mission—bringing together industry experts, passionate educators, student leaders, and dedicated community members to guide and grow the programs and support the overall direction of the organization to best empower students and transform lives.
What is the Institutional Advisory Board?
The Cass Career Center IAB is driven by a vision to help students thrive by gaining the skills they need for a competitive workforce. At its core, the board consists of diverse professionals, educators, students, and advocates who provide strategic guidance to ensure CCC continues to meet the evolving needs of both students and the community.
Objectives of the CCC IAB
The board's core mission focuses on three key pillars:
-
Shifting Perceptions: Changing how people view Career and Technical Education (CTE) by showcasing its importance in building a strong, skilled workforce. This includes highlighting success stories, illustrating how CTE prepares students for high-demand, well-paying careers, and breaking down outdated stereotypes that undervalue career and technical education.
-
Expanding Outreach: Broadening awareness of CTE programs to engage new audiences, such as parents, educators, prospective students, and community leaders, while fostering relationships with industry partners. This involves creating targeted marketing campaigns, hosting events or workshops, and leveraging social media to connect with a wider audience that can support and benefit from CTE initiatives.
- Enhancing Workforce Development: Equipping students with the practical skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s job market. This includes aligning CTE curricula with industry standards, facilitating hands-on training opportunities, and forming partnerships with businesses to ensure students are prepared to meet real-world demands, ultimately bridging the gap between education and employment.
